Donald Fraser leads Around the Fire, channeling the creative aspects of his professional career through the lens of storytelling. With a deep-seated passion for fostering positive, narrative-driven communication, he aims to engage, promote, and uplift both local and national communities. Donald has honed his writing and communication skills while working with not-for-profit organizations, public institutions, community-based small businesses, and contributing to local and national media outlets and programs. He is also the former owner and operator of both Small Print Writing and Consulting and Farm to Table Culinary Tourism.
His roster of previous clients and partners includes Trent University, the City of Peterborough, Peterborough & the Kawarthas, Peterborough Tourism, Peterborough Regional Hospital Foundation, Market Hall, Green-Up, Community Care, and many more.
As a media writer, editor, and producer, Donald served as the decade-long managing editor of TRENT Magazine (Trent University’s flagship publication) and Alma Matters E-News. He was a columnist for both the Peterborough Examiner and Peterborough This Week, a scriptwriter for Fish’n Canada (which aired in 12 countries in six different languages and over 200 North American markets), and the host/producer of weekly segments on CHEX Television for over four years, among many other roles.
Driven by a longstanding belief in the power of community, Donald has conducted audio, video, and print interviews with prominent Canadians, key members of the Peterborough community, and hundreds of local residents. Through these interviews, he highlights and promotes the individuals, organizations, programs, and businesses that contribute to making our world a better place.
